About Debbie Martinez, LMT

With a career spanning over 28 years in the medical field, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the practice and teaching of massage therapy. My background includes 13 years as a Licensed Massage Therapist, complemented by 8 years as a dedicated Massage Therapy Instructor. This passion for sharing knowledge stems from my core belief: “Everything you know is worth nothing unless you share it with others.”

My medical journey began as a Triage Nurse and Medical Assistant Instructor, providing a solid foundation in patient care and medical education. This experience seamlessly transitioned into the world of massage, where I’ve honed my skills in diverse settings, including therapeutic massage clinics, clinical massage practices, and day spas. I am a Certified Medical Massage Practitioner, allowing me to provide targeted and effective treatments for a variety of conditions.

I am deeply committed to the massage therapy community and have actively contributed to its growth and development. I served as an AMTA board member and currently serve as a co-coordinator for the southeast region. For the past four years, I have also worked with the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) on three committees, dedicating my expertise to contributing content for the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx). This involvement reflects my dedication to upholding high standards and ensuring the competency of future massage therapists.

I’m passionate about empowering others with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in this rewarding field. My combined experience in traditional medicine and massage therapy gives me a unique perspective, allowing me to approach each client and student with a holistic understanding of their individual needs.
